On this page
The CICO Filters bar sits under the native WordPress controls (media type, date and search), which keep working as usual. It adds the filters WordPress does not have.
The filters
| Filter | Options |
|---|---|
| Usage | Used or No usage found, based on the completed Usage Index. |
| Frontend status | Live, Not live or Unknown. It appears only after you choose Used. See Usage Intelligence. |
| Tags | One or more Media Tags. Select several to see images that have any of them. |
| Orientation | Landscape, Portrait or Square, from the WordPress attachment data. |
| File size | Under 250 KB, 250 KB – 1 MB, 1 – 2 MB or Over 2 MB. Handy to find heavy images. |
| File type | Images, video and documents, by WordPress file type or extension. |
| Source | Where the image is used: Gutenberg, Elementor, WooCommerce, ACF and other supported sources. See Integrations. |
You can combine them. For example: No usage found + Over 2 MB + Landscape finds heavy, unused landscape images.
Work with the results
- The active filters appear as small chips below the bar. Remove one with its ×.
- Clear filters resets everything at once.
- The number of images in the current result is shown next to the Usage Index status.
- Select multiple lets you pick several images to tag them in bulk.
In the Media Picker
The same bar appears inside the Media Picker when you choose a featured image or an image block, so you can find the right image without leaving the editor.
Settings
In Media → CICO Media → Filters:
- Sticky filter bar. Keeps the bar visible while you scroll a long library. Turn it off if you prefer the bar to scroll away.
The bar is added below the WordPress controls and never replaces another plugin’s toolbar or folders.
