Pro license: activate, check and manage
How to activate CICO Media Pro, what Active, Grace period and Expired mean, how to move the license to another site and where to find billing and invoices.

CICO Media Pro is activated with a license. Everything you normally need is in Media → CICO Media → License.
Activate Pro
- Install and activate the free CICO Media plugin, then install and activate CICO Media Pro.
- Open Media → CICO Media → License. If Pro is not active yet, the top of the screen shows Activate Pro.
- Follow the activation steps with the email address and license from your purchase.

Try Pro free for 14 days
You can try CICO Media Pro for 14 days before you buy. No credit card is needed.
- In Media → CICO Media → Overview, press Try Pro free for 14 days (or use the same button on the pricing section of cicomediawp.com).
- Enter your email address and name in the Freemius checkout, then press Start Trial.
- Install and activate CICO Media Pro and follow the activation steps.
While the trial runs, the plugin header shows Free trial: N days left. The License tab shows Free trial, the date the trial ends (Trial ends) and the days left.
Keep Pro after the trial
No payment method is needed for the trial, so nothing is charged when it ends. On the end date the Pro features pause. The free CICO Media plugin keeps working, and your settings, Media Tags and Usage Index are kept.
To keep Pro:
- In Media → CICO Media → License, press Buy CICO Media Pro and complete the purchase.
- Press Change license key and enter the license key that Freemius sends you.
If you do nothing, the trial simply ends.
Status
The status chip at the top of the plugin screens shows the state of your license.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | All Pro features and eligible automatic updates are available. |
| Activation pending | The license is being validated. Click Refresh status in a moment. |
| Grace period | A temporary payment or validation issue. Pro keeps working for a limited time. |
| Expired | Pro features pause. CICO Media keeps your settings, Media Tags and the Usage Index, and everything comes back when the license is renewed. |
The license tab also shows the plan, the expiration date, the last check, the account email and the site activations (for example 1 / 1: this site uses one of the sites included in your license).
Manage the license
- Refresh license checks the current status again.
- Change license key replaces the key used on this site.
- Deactivate on this site frees the activation, so you can use the license on another site. You will be asked to confirm.
- Billing & invoices opens the secure Freemius customer portal, where you can see invoices, change the payment method and manage the subscription.
License changes never delete media files, posts, products, custom fields, tags, settings or the CICO usage index.
Move Pro to another site
- On the old site open License and click Deactivate on this site.
- Install and activate CICO Media and CICO Media Pro on the new site.
- Activate Pro with the same license.
